The skies around Corowa are perfect for gliding with many clear days throughout the year. The Australian Soaring Centre is a class of its own. Come out and watch the gliders take off and fly around the country side or for those a little braver enquire about going up yourself. Since 2001, they have been one of the ultimate soaring centres in Australia with a variety of gliders available for hire. A world class venue hugely popular with regular visitors from Europe and all around Australia. Why glide at Corowa? It is a safe airfield without high objects such as power lines and is excellent and well maintained with wide concrete and grass runways. No rice or big irrigation and located close to the mountains. Thermal conditions – start 1.5 hours earlier than at the other sites. Easy land-able paddocks from the airfield up to 1000 kilometres north.
