| Tour Itinerary: |
Day 1 - Darwin to Katherine Gorge After departing Darwin, we take a look at the Adelaide River WWII War Cemetery before spending the afternoon either canoeing or cruising (at own expense) the striking Katherine (Nitmiluk) Gorge. We stay overnight in our permanent campsite. (LD)
Day 2 - Katherine Gorge to Tennant Creek Relax in Mataranka’s crystal clear thermal pools then experience the famous Outback pub at Daly Waters,the oldest in the Northern Territory. After lunch, we travel south to Tennant Creek for our overnight camp at Juno Horse Farm. (BLD)
Day 3 - Tennant Creek to Alice Springs This morning we visit th epicturesque Mary Ann Dam in the Honeymoon Ranges before exploring the mysterious foundations of the Devils Marbles. We continue on to Alice Springs for our overnight dorm accommodation (upgrade to motel accommodation is available at own expense). (BL)
Day 4 - Alice Springs to Uluru We call in at the Outback Camel Farm, where you have the chance to go for a camel ride(at own expense), before continuing on to Uluru (Ayers Rock) while enjoying the sights of the ancient Hugh and Finke River systems and Mt Connor along the way. After lunch, we set off to hike the spectacular Valley of the Winds in Kata Tjuta (Olgas) then return to watch the sun set over Uluru with a glass of sparkling wine. Curl up for the night in the tents at our permanent camp site or view the brilliance of the outback night sky while sleeping in an authentic Aussie bedroll (swag). (LD)
Day 5 - Uluru to Kings Canyon It’s an early start for one of the highlights of the tour; the Uluru sunrise. Enjoy a walk around the base exploring the mysterious rock formations and Aboriginal art sites or choose to climb Uluru. We visit the Cultural Centre and enjoy lunch before heading to Kings Canyon for our overnight camp. (BLD)
Day 6 - Kings Canyon to Alice Springs Climb and explore spectacular Kings Canyon, view the ;Amphitheatre;The Lost City & the picturesque Garden of Eden; and the breathtaking North and South Walls. After lunch, we return to Alice Springs viewing the rugged desert scenery along the way. (BL)
