13.05.07 Depart Brisbane at 10.25am on CI 54, arriving in Taipei at 5.10pm. You will be met at the airport and transferred to the Howard Plaza Hotel.
14.05.07(B,L,D) Brisbane passengers wwill have a morning tour to the Botanical Gardens and Yangmingshan National Park. Afternoon free.
Melbourne passengers will have a connecting flight to Sydney. Both Sydney and Melbourne passengers depart Sydney at 11.40am on CI 52, arriving in Taipei at 7.10pm. Transfer to the Howard Plaza Hotel.
15.05.07 (B,L) Taipei All passengers will enjoy a morning tour taking in Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, Martyr's Shrine, Chinese Temple, National Museum, Handicraft Centre and the Changing of the Guards. Chaing Kai Shek played a large part in the relocation of the people from mainland China and memorails to him can be found throughout the island. We will then visit a Chinese temple. Because of the Japanese invasion, Daoist and Buddhists were forced to secretly in either dominations temples and because of this, temples found in Taiwan are somewhat different to those found in other countries. The National Museum displays the history of the Taiwanese people and gives the visitor an understanding of their culture. Changing of the Guards is spellbinding as the young soldiers toss rifles with unsheathed bayonets to each other in exact precision as the old guards dismount their block and new guards take up that position. After lunch transfer to Taipei Airport departing at 2.05pm on CI 32, arriving in Vancouver at 9.25am the same day. (You cross the international date line). Transfer to the Sheraton Hotel. Rest of the day is free.

( B, L ) Vancouver - Rocky Mountaineer Kamloops Arrive at Vancouver's Pacific Central Station and board your Rocky Mountaineer train for a two day, all daylight, classic rail journey from the Pacific Coast to the Canadian Rockies. Travel through the fertile fields of the Fraser Valley surrounded by snow-capped Coast Mountains towards Fraser Canyon. Continue through the raging turbulence of mighty Hell's Gate as you journey along the South Thompson River, eventually reaching your overnight destination of Kamloops.
Note: Kamloops properties are considered moderate two or three star hotels or motor inns. Your chosen hotel is determined by Rocky Mountaineer Railtours, however you can rest assured it satisfies our high standards of cleanliness and comfort. For your conveinience, baggage that will not be need during the train journey will be checked through to Jasper. Checked luggage will not be accessible during the journey. 03.06.07 ( B ) Transfer to Calgary Airport for a flight to Vancouver. Depart Vancouver at 11.35am on CI 31, arriving in Taipei at 3.00pm on 04.06.07.
04.06.07 Brisbane passengers depart Taipei at 9.45pm on CI 53, arriving in Brisbane at 8.20am the next morning (05.06.07). Sydney passengers will be transferred back to the Howard Plaza Hotel.
05.06.07 (B,L,D) Sydney passengers have the morning free in Taipei. After lunch, there will be a tour to the botanical gardens and to Yangmingshan National Park. After dinner transfer to Taipei Airport, departing at 10.20pm on CI 51, arriving in Sydney at 9.30am the next morning (06.06.07). There will be a connecting flight to Melbourne.
Note: The price for this tour is based on an inside state room on the Alaskan cruise. To upgrade to an outside cabin costs and extra $316 per person twin share, or for an outside cabin with verandah it would cost an extra $823. |
